Qualcomm Launches Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Processor: Collaborates with Zhipu and Tencent for Edge AI
At the Snapdragon Summit 2024 held today, Qualcomm officially unveiled the highly anticipated Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform, a chip built on TSMC's advanced second-generation 3nm process technology, marking a new peak in performance for Android smartphone chips. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 features an entirely new core design, eliminating the small cores in favor of a full big-core layout, which includes 2 ultra-large cores with clock speeds reaching up to 4.32GHz and 6 large cores at 3.53GHz. This design sets a new historical record for smartphone processor clock speeds.
